There is probably some cool story about why Jay-Z's verse was not on the original song, but I just find it amusing to hear Jay-Z on a song with an autotune hook. That said this is one of my favorite beats from lat year.
I love when shit like this comes out. Apparently "Nothing On You was a Bruno Mars song that his people wanted somebody to rap on. Lupe laid it down, but B.O.B.'s people cut those checks a little quicker. I like both versions. Check it out and judge for yourself.
I know a lot of people stopped effing with 50 after the trash that was Curtis, but his last record was actually pretty good. This track is may have been the hardest songs of 2009 if it weren't for "Death To My Enemies" which was on this same album. I love this song becuae it is soulful and brutal at the same time.
This was India's first single and it was big. Part of me always thought a piece of why this was such a hit was because it used the same break as Akinyele's "Put It In Your Mouth". The break used is "Fun" by Brick.
I have the special edition of School Daze on DVD and forgot that it came with the soundtrack as a bonus. I know plenty of people who did not go to an HBCU or pledge who love this song from the movie. Lead vocals on this track are done by Tisha Campbell who depending on how old you are you remember from Martin or My Wife And Kids. The back up vocals are sung by Jasmine Guy and two other girls who wound up not being cast in A Different World or anything else.
Before Three Six Mafia was going to the Oscars they had a female member that was actually on the radio more than they were. Gangsta Boo was not really a good rapper but she had a lot of confidence in her delivery, and these songs were some really guilty pleasures of mine.
Nobody remembers this joint but I used to love it. This was a single off of the Victory album. Randy is singing lead not Michael which is probably another reason people were not feeling it like that. By the time they shot the video Mike had, had enough of holding down his brothers and refused to be in it as did Jermaine.
They have a new single out, but who really cares. Despite being as country as a dozen eggs, I used to love this song. On aa side note De La Soul used the same sample used in this song for Millie Pulled A Gun On Santa.
This is the kind of joint that is going to inspire me to do another mixtape. His album Soul Movement Vol. 1 has been available overseas for minute, and it will be released stateside by BBE on May 26th. Don't sleep on this.
